I had the pleasure of doing an author visit at the San Ysidro library in San Diego during Black History Month 2023. ABC 10 News found out about the visit and did a piece about me and the book. How exciting!

That wasn’t it, though. KPBS actually came to the author visit and did a piece on it. How exciting…again!
While I was there, I also got the chance to show a replica of a spine (I used to work in the spine industry as an engineer). I also showed a couple of inventions I patented, one of which is the Spleash, a leash attachment for dogs. I mentioned in the book that Anthony could eventually become a scientist. What could be better than showing kids the fruits of a scientist’s labor – an actual invention? Nothing if you ask me!
It feels so good to get the word out there about the book, encouraging kids to explore their curiosity…starting with their hair!
